Jewellery Organisation

Today, being a Sunday, I was both incredibly lazy and productive. Firstly I did not get up until 12 which was an achievement I'm proud of. 26 and still able to lie in like I'm 13!

After though I really did need to sort out my war zone of a room. Especially after the Xmas hols and coming back with my sister. I never properly unpacked so my has took stuff out if my suitcase and dumped it randomly around the room.

One thing I did that I thought was cute, you can choose to disagree, was using an oversized wine glass to store my earrings. For Christmas my aunt and uncle bought me a wine glass that holds an entire bottle of wine. This is the third one I've ever received! I love it and more importantly I love wine. However I don't often have people round and I feel that drinking an entire bottle of wine is a little...strange.

So, as I brought back more of my possessions, I needed to store my earrings so they didn't get constantly tangled. Voila, two birds with one stone. My earrings now sit in and dangle from an oversized wine glass. I'm a bloody genius!!

(Sort of)

Shopping Addict!

Please send help... or money. I'm ok with money too.

I have no real need for clothes and absolutely no spare money. However, with the creation of January Sales and the Internet combined, I feel an impulsive desire to buy new clothes... HELP! Why do I feel so compelled to spend money?
I will try to overcome this dread with reading and sleep. I should probably also try losing weight first to fit into my pre chubby wardrobe. Wine could work too.

Remember... I need help or money...

P.S. - Yes I realise the internet and January sales have been combined for many years now... bastards!

Productive Jan 1st

So usually my New Year's Day is a hungover sofa bad food film day. I'm classy and grown up and enjoy a good New Year's Eve night out so it really is the only option.

Yesterday however was possibly the worlds most productive January first... Ever. As my sister was visiting me and we I had to work some of the time here we inevitably wanted to do something fun on my day off. We started with a little lie in, necessary after sleeping at 4:30am after a long walk home because people on the night bus had a fight!!

Once were up and ready we went straight to Sacre Couer in Montmarte. My sister likes it up there and hasn't been here for 6 years. We managed the million stairs (just), bustled past tourists and saw the view. It was really lovely. Also needed a stop for coffee and Nutella crepes too. Just to stay warm of course!

After took the urine infested metro, possibly made worse after NYE, to the Eiffel Tower and wandered through the park. I still love looking at it! After we found our way through the throngs of tourists queuing to go up the tower we walked up to the trocadero and then along to the arc de triomphe. Once there we had to do an obligatory selfie as our mum and other sister had whatsapp'd us about watching sound of music.

After a short walk down the Champs Elysees we decided to go home. We are both getting old and needed a break!

Later in the evening we had a 3course dinner and wine down my favourite road Rue Mouffetard. This was of course followed by a purchase of more wine. Then we went to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle at 11pm from the Pantheon in the 5th. It's a really nice view from there. Lots of Christmas lights, the Luxembourg park and 'Parisian' architecture.

All in all a great start to 2014!

Happy New Year 2014

1st January 2014... The day to make resolutions you half heartedly intend on keeping!
In the past year I've had a fantastic time, moving to another country, learning a language, meeting lots of new people and one of my best friends got married. In light of this I don't think I really have many resolutions to make as I'm already pretty awesome (insert sarcasm here). However below I will write a few and see how I get on this year!
1- Exercise again! I used to go to the gym 3-4 times per week. This year due to the move, the lack of money and my absolute hate for running I've probably exercised 3-4 times in a year. Therefore I must do something to slim down and become healthier!
2- Travel more. I've only been to two continents and I'm hoping to expand this to three this year. One of my best friends is currently volunteering in Rwanda for two years and I'd love to visit her. I miss her lots and I've never been to Africa so it's win win!!
3- Save some money. I always thought I'd be better with grown up stuff by my age but unfortunately I'm not. At all. Thus year I need to properly save so if I ever desire to buy a house/car/holiday I can without wondering which bank to rob first!

That's it for now... Like I say I'm pretty happy with my life so I want to tweak it rather than change it!
Happy New Year, let me know your resolutions.
