Summer Nail Art

Orange and gold tips
Hi, here are some of my nail art ideas that I used throughout the summer. Hope you enjoy them! I managed to get my nails really long in the summer so was really happy with the shape, unfortunately now I have managed to break the lot so back to square one ... This is however what happens when you grow your own nails instead of having falsies. Although I have spells where my nails break, I still believe my nails are healthier than if I had ever had fake nails.

Leopard nails

Hi, today's manicure was inspired by a post on beauty junctions site. I've always loved leopard nails but never had a go as I never thought I'd be able to do it. It was much easier than I thought!

First I did my base coat and base colour in mint green from Rimmel. I've used thus lots in posts. I love the colour and think its great for spring.

Once this was dry I used my Barry m glitter varnish in silver and put dots on my nails. Again wait for this to dry and I used my black nail art pen to go around the edges to create the leopard style effect. Once this is all dry then I used my good top coat from Sally Hansen - double duty.

I realise this may take a while but I did this on a Sunday night in my slanket (blanket with sleeves) whilst watching TOWIE in front of the fire because my boilers broken. I love using nights in to do my nails. I figure if I'm sat on the sofa doing nothing anyway I might as well have nice nails.

Fingers crossed my boiler gets fixed soon though!! Let me know if you try this out and post any links. Check out the link that I got this idea from too. Maria x

Spotty nails

Just a quick post to show you my spotty nails! What do you think? I painted them white and then when it was dry I used a nail art pen for the pink dots. For the blue I used a regular nail varnish but dipped in a kirby hair grip. You need to be careful with this as if you put on too much it will just drip and go everywhere! I suggest practising first.

What nail art do you like to do? Send me your links in the comment box if you have any similar blog posts for me to read.

Spring Nail Looks

Here I thought I would share some of my nail looks from the past few weeks. I love glitter, matte colours and lots of other styles. I just wish I could make better use if my nail art pens if I had a steady hand. Will continue to practice though and hopefully will include them in future nail art posts.

Share your nail blog post links in the comments below.

Dipped nails - gold and pink

Hi, in on a Friday night which means - nail time!! I've decided to not go with a spring style yet as there's a chance of snow this weekend so my mint green and light pinks are staying in the drawer tonight.

I wanted to do a gold with black dip as I've never tried it before. However, I've lost my black varnish! This being the case I went for my rimmel Lycra pro in urban purple for the 'dipping part'.

If you try this make sure you wait for each coat to dry. The pictures still have done of the messy edges on my nails but I will be tidying them up in the morning.

Let me know what you think. I'm not sure yet so it might not last that long!
